As far as i knew this Kayan community are from Uma Pu community was part of the Kayan community who were previously from the Belanah Kayan community for many decades. As the community became larger and hard to managed, the community leaders who used to be from the aristocrat group decided to split the community into two groups. The group are presently at Long Atip and Long Bedian. Long Bedian group to occupy the right side of the Belanah river while the other the left side for the river. History also said that these Uma Pu were from Selaan area ( currently Kenyah occupied). They swapped the land. That was many hundreds years back during the head hunting heroes era.
Long Bedian folks actually have been blessed more that their counterpart. Both famous and the infamous event are in Long Bedian.e.g The first community to receive the national King and Queens of Malaysia, the first community to received the nation's Prime Minister the then and current Dr Mahatir MOhamad ( His blog was chedet.com). The community also have been in the center of development like the logging, gas, tourism etc. The place is now called Rural Growth Center ( RGC) for the Tutoh area. This to say all administrative matters can be settled here rather to Long Lama , Marudi or Miri.

Due to these development, many interest have been coming into the community. eg. anti logging, native land issues, leadership issues, business issues, drugs, internal feud, political and many more. Not all are bad instead are all eye opener for everybody who were disillusion and disoriented by development.
The nearby forest called Tenyok have many flora and fauna attraction and clear crystal cold stone water and few waterfall are found here. There are chalet for the resort and good riverside for hiking day and night. The forest have nice tall mountain over seeing the lowland.
Political wise, this community is the only community that have two state representative for the whole Telang usan constituency. Many interested tribe have tried to dethrone but failed for the last 20 years this year 2019.

As reported in the paper last week, the fire works material( firecracker) did not released and thsi guy , an Indonesian worker ( the one who light it) went back to find out why. It could be modified to get a bigger bang!.

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 13): There was an explosion on Sunday on the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline in East Malaysia but the situation is now under control, a fire and rescue department official said on Monday. “The explosion is still under investigation. Due to communication problems and the remoteness (of the site), our team was late in relaying information to our system. But Petronas’ ERT (emergency response team) brought the explosion and a small fire under control,” Sarawak state department director Khirudin Drahman told Reuters . State-owned energy company Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) operates the 500-kilometre-long pipeline. The explosion occurred in the northern district of Marudi. Petronas did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It is not clear if Petronas halted operations of the pipeline, which carries gas from the Kebabangan gas field in Sabah state to Bintulu in Sarawak where Petronas operates one of the world'
