Long Bedian- Communal Township
As far as i knew this Kayan community are from Uma Pu community was part of the Kayan community who were previously from the Belanah Kayan community for many decades. As the community became larger and hard to managed, the community leaders who used to be from the aristocrat group decided to split the community into two groups. The group are presently at Long Atip and Long Bedian. Long Bedian group to occupy the right side of the Belanah river while the other the left side for the river. History also said that these Uma Pu were from Selaan area ( currently Kenyah occupied). They swapped the land. That was many hundreds years back during the head hunting heroes era. Long Bedian folks actually have been blessed more that their counterpart. Both famous and the infamous event are in Long Bedian.e.g The first community to receive the national King and Queens of Malaysia, the first community to received the nation's Prime Minister the then and current Dr Mahatir MOhamad ( H
