Long Bedian

Long Bedian.

Long Bedian is a remote Kayan longhouse located in upper Apoh river. The longhouse have 210 doors with population estimated at 2,000 peoples. As a norm phenomena of urbanisation, only couples of people manned the longhouse throughout the year. During the last gawai festival ( we dont celebrate gawai), the urban Long Bedian residents that went back to clean up their rooms dust were 1,200 people. that look as if its was just half because most were not seen anywhere. The only access to the longhouse is by timber roads.

Larger transport system for the neighbours to nearby village such as Long Liam, Long Tebangan, timber camps.

Local tourists having their nice time at Ria cafe in long Bedian. there are couple of small cafe like coffee shop at Long Bedian where you can eat and relax.

The Penan neighbours do come to the longhouse selling their handycrafts. You bet!, quality is their selling points. they do also sell wild pigs to the locals.
The church can accomodate 1,000 peoples at one time.
Congested with 4x4 vehicles parking. For a safer ride, use 4x4 vehicles along the timber roads. it takes 4 to 5 hrs rides from Miri-Tinjar-Long lama-long Bedian. Enroute to Mulu national park from here is a cheaper choice,
